5. Geolocation and Pedometer Data

Given the nature of the Application, the collection of geolocation and physical activity data is an essential part of the service. In particular:

We collect high-precision GPS location data during active walks.
The Application may collect background location data while a walk is in progress, even when the screen is locked or the Application is in the background.
Geolocation data is stored indefinitely as part of the user's walk history.
Location data may be used for advertising purposes and shared with third parties as described in section 4.
The user may revoke location permission at any time through their device settings, which will limit walk tracking functionalities.

Regarding the pedometer (step counter):

The Application uses the device's built-in pedometer sensor (accelerometer/motion sensor) to count the user's steps during active walks.
Accessing the pedometer requires the user's explicit permission (activity recognition on Android, motion sensor access on iOS).
Step count data is associated with each walk and stored as part of the walk history on our servers.
If the user denies or revokes the pedometer permission, walks will proceed normally without step counting; no step data will be collected.
The user may enable or disable pedometer access at any time through the Application settings or the device's system settings.

6. Data Storage and Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
Restricted access control to systems that store personal data.

However, no method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
